The Fugees Pay Tribute To Man U And Wayne Rooney

Despite going through possibly their worst week in recent history, Manchester United can find solace in the fact that they’ve got a new celebrity fan - Wyclef Jean.
Wyclef and The Fugees performed at the Manchester MEN Arena last night (December 13).
To the surprise of most of the audience and to the disgust of any Man City, Liverpool, Everton etc. fans present, Wyclef came on stage with a Manchester United top with Wayne Rooney on the back.
The rapper kept the shirt on throughout The Fugees’ show stopping performance.

Man Utd 0 - Villarreal 0

The result leaves United's European dream in a worrying state as they must now beat Benfica in Lisbon in their final group game in order to progress to the knock-out stages.
Meanwhile Villareal will see the result as mission accomplished, having travelled to the Theatre of Dreams without star striker Diego Forlan and playmaker Juan Riquelme.
In their absence the Spaniards looked perfectly happy to hang back and keep United at bay, while looking to catch the Reds on the break.
Villareal will now head back home still topping group D, knowing that they have the best chance of qualification with only a home game against Lille to come.
Sir Alex Ferguson's team came out strong at the beginning of the match and controlled the early possession, and they nearly went one-up in only the second minute.
Wayne Rooney received a cross from Cristiano Ronaldo with his back to goal and managed to battle his way past Pena before his shot was stopped by Villareal goalkeeper Barbosa.
Rooney then shot straight into Ruud van Nistelrooy, United's skipper on the night, before Paul Scholes almost played van Nistelrooy in with a delicate through ball that was just beyond the Dutchman.
Paul Scholes was looking to make an impact on his return from a one match ban, and Gonzalo had to be extraordinarily quick to read the Englishman's intentions after he had stepped past Javi Venta, sliding in to take the ball away before Scholes could unleash a trademark thunderbolt.
However Rooney's early effort was to be the closest United would come to scoring, as Villareal's defence denied them any clear-cut opportunities.

No hard feelings?

Didier Drogba of Chelsea walks off with Wayne Rooney of Manchester United at the end of thei Premiership match. The 1-0 victory moved the Red Devils to third in the standings, ten points behind Chelsea.

we can catch chelsea

WAYNE Rooney is convinced if any club can overhaul Chelsea this season, Manchester United can.
The Blues still boast a 10-point cushion over Sir Alex Ferguson's side despite the loss of their 40-game unbeaten Premiership run at Old Trafford on Sunday.
Jose Mourinho remains bullish about Chelsea's chances of landing back-to-back titles and the bookmakers agree with the Stamford Bridge coach.

But, in his new DVD 'Wayne Rooney - My First Year at Manchester United', the England striker insists United can still mount a forceful challenge to Chelsea.
"If any club can do it, we can," said Rooney.
"Obviously Chelsea have had a good start but we hope they will drop some points and we can catch them up.

"The Premier League is our priority this season. A club of this size needs to be winning trophies and we have a good enough squad to be doing that."

After finishing last season as United's top scorer, with some wondrous strikes among his 17-goal haul, including a hat-trick on his debut against Fenerbahce, Rooney's first campaign for the Red Devils following his £27million move from Everton could not have gone much better.
The obvious downside was a lack of silverware, with disappointing Premiership and Champions League campaigns compounded by an FA Cup final shoot-out defeat to Arsenal.
